This is the answer to the question: why psychotherapy?
The psychic suffering hinders a correct personal and professional development. Psychotherapy is professional help focused on taking out what´s best in each person to improve the quality of life.
Our culture understands freedom as a basic human right. The Cambridge dictionary of English explains, that FREEDOM is:
The condition or right of being able or allowed to do, say, think, etc. whatever you want to, without being controlled orlimited
Very often we are slaves from the psychological point of view; instead of feeling owners of our own lives, we feel that nothing depends on us. We act according to some schemes that are known and transmit false tranquility.
In the psychotherapeutic treatment, the therapist, taking the role of a co-pilot, helps us to regain the strength and self-confidence to free ourselves from the psychological slavery.
In the modern world, the professional life is a very important factor for each person and it tends to be a reflection of our psychological state.
To choose well the profession, to carry out the tasks effectively, to be successful, are the professional objectives, among others, of a modern person.
A professional or school failure is a frequent motif for psychological consultation. And when it is not, an improvement in this field tends to be a secondary effect of a psychological treatment.
"We only become what we are by the radical and deep seated refusal of that which others have made of us."
Jean Paul Sartre
The question "Who are you?" is one of the most difficult ones. What we believe that we are is very often a response to what the others want or don´t want us to be. We use numerous defense or compensation mechanisms which are not always adaptative here and now. We wear many masks. That is why it is so difficult to know which of them are real.
